Two Months Ago Today...

What a blessing and what a beautiful gift!  We have had Airlie for two months (and two hours to be precise), and it is absolutely amazing to look at the beautiful, playful, confident little girl she is becoming! It's even more amazing to know that nine months prior to her June 20, 2009 birthday, God knew her life's plan as he knitted her sweet little body together in her birth mother's womb.  He knew she was ours, when we had no clue.  He knew she would be given to us on August 13, 2012; we did not.  He knew she would adjust just perfectly to her forever family, and He knew she would be LOVED beyond measure.  He KNOWS the plan for her future, and I am so very humbled that He chose to provide us the honor of enjoying her!  Tearfully, I can't thank Him enough...

Here are some new pictures of my Loves...

Party Hard!

Since my last post, we have had so much fun!  On Wednesday, the beautiful folks at Fort Campbell High School threw a party for Airlie.  It wasn't just ANY party.  It was the FIRST party that she had ever had in her honor and the FIRST time she had ever opened a gift.  I have never in my life seen a more excited child.  She opened the first gift with the exact same enthusiasm and awe as she opened the last one.  It was appreciation, innocence, and excitement all rolled into one!  I sat behind her so I could not see her face...all I could hear were the squeals!  It was THE BEST party I have ever attended!

Cavan helped his Sissy open the gifts, and Kian flirted with Ms. Kesha.  I highly commend and thank Ms. Kesha for being able to keep up with him!  Ha ha...

When we arrived home, Airlie pulled out each and every gift to show her daddy.  The next day, she toted all of her gift bags around (with the gifts still in them).  Finally when I tried to take the gifts out and put them away, she was mad at me.  However, she was happy for me to give her the bags so she could load them up with other various things that she found around the house! (Sometimes we hoard.)

She received two baby dolls at her party.  She dressed and undressed them 1,000,000 times.  Little Kian seemed to think it was funny to try to get them away from her so she thought she would show him!  She hid them, and we have not been able to find them since.  She is worried about her babies, but I am certain they will turn up someday.  It's so funny to watch her as she intently tries to explain (in Chinese with motions) how things occur.  It goes something like this:

"Jfklsdf  fjsfjd  fjsof  KIAN gnrtin  vndsf  LITTLE  keifns  fjsdnv  KIAN  gneling  hchsi KIAN!!!!!"

I must say that Wednesday was one of the happiest days that I have seen Airlie since she joined our family.  A special thank you isn't sufficient for my FCHS friends that gave my baby her first party.  She knew she was loved...

We ate lunch with Gigi, Ms. Jeannie, and Ms. Joan this week at Gigi's work.  We took a picture outside of the office.

Cavan, Parker, and I went on a hike at LBL.  The babies stayed with Chris, Big Daddy (a.k.a. Big), and Gigi. They didn't shed a tear while we were gone!!!  YAY!

Can't we just all smile and sit normal in ONE picture for mommy?  The answer?  NO
Our second party of the week happened on Friday night.  Part of our extended family wanted to meet Airlie so they threw her a pizza party at the rec center at Springhill Baptist Church.  She was very excited to hear the word "party" and was all smiles to attend!

"A party?  Sign me up."
We were so excited to visit with family that, sadly, we don't get to see very often.  They all seemed to enjoy Airlie's company, and she certainly enjoyed theirs!  The good news is that she received four more baby dolls!!!  She has had them for 25 hours (and counting), and we still have all four.  She has guarded them carefully all day from the little brother.  These babies make me laugh!  Here are some more party pictures from her second party.
Airlie decided to hang on to all of her gifts.  The pink one has all four of her baby dolls inside!

A really soft unicorn pillow....

"WHAT A GREAT WEEK!"

You know, life is so funny and it is proven to me over and over again how absolutely GREAT our GOD is.  I am kind of ashamed to say this...but when we originally decided to adopt, we wanted to adopt to add to our family.  Sure, it was a good thing to do, but we really just wanted to add another child.  Now it has become so much more.  Once you have seen with your own eyes how orphans live, heard their hunger pangs, watched their eyes cry out in desperation and confusion, felt them grasp on to you for fear of the unknown, and even wave good bye and blow kisses to you as you leave the orphanage with their friend and not them...your life can NEVER be the same and your purpose can NEVER be the same.  Proverbs 24:12 hangs on my refrigerator.  It says:

"...once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do.  God, who weighs our hearts and keeps our souls, knows that we know, and holds us responsible to act."

Have a great week!
Stacy

P.S.  Something amazing happened this week.  I can't share it just yet (because it is someone else's news to share first)...but it's goooooood!

We have been busy, busy, busy lately with life.  Things are going GREAT, and I haven't made the time to blog.  I have been trying to get up early and get myself ready for the day before the kiddos get up.  That makes me tired at night.  The night, when everyone is sound asleep, is the only time I can find the peace to write!  If I tried to update my blog during the day, who knows what would be on here!

Cavan, Airlie, and Kian are all doing great.  As I have written before, it is like they have all been together since birth.  I couldn't ask for them to love each other more.  They are precious!  Airlie is WANTING to cuddle with us, which is fantastic!  For weeks, I had to make her let me hold her and love on her.  She would push me away and fuss the whole time.  Now she wants her turn cuddling every morning and having my lap all to herself.  She even gets upset when her turn is over, and it is Cavan or Kian's turn!

She went to her cousin Maggie's "butterfly princess Minnie Mouse extravaganza" birthday party recently.  We picked out a Barbie doll to give as a gift.  Airlie went crazy over that doll!  I didn't know if we would make it to the party with the package in one piece or not, but we did!  She played and played in Maggie's room, and I realized that we don't have enough girly toys at our house to satisfy.  Maybe Santa will fix that.

Little Kian fully participated in all aspects of the princess party, as you can see.
Cavan and Parker played guns at the princess party....

Airlie loved the snacks at the party!

We went to Fall on the Farm at Murray State.  The kids had a great time playing.  Airlie was scared of the tractor, but has talked about how she rode a tractor ever since!  She tells me every single day about the tractor, never fails.
Airlie rode the pony with EXTREME caution.  Can you tell?  Ha ha...I should have gone in there to hold her, but I really wanted to take pictures. Hard to believe, eh?
She loved riding the tractor!

She didn't want to touch the cow milking demonstration, but she was mighty interested in it.  She made Kian do all of the work...

High energy horse bouncing was just her style!

Her favorite activity?  Yes, the corn pit (or at least that is what I like to call it).  I found corn in their diapers, in their pockets, and even in my pants...

We have managed to make it to the playground a couple of times lately. On our first visit, Airlie didn't want to immediately get out of the stroller.  She watched the boys for about 15 minutes, then asked me to get out.  On our second playground visit, she started cheering, "yay, yay, yay" before we could even get out of the car!
She loves to slide!

Two peas in a pod...

Here are some other fun photos I have taken lately...

I am just so blessed.  I can't believe that God is allowing me the honor of being the mom of three of the most beautifully amazing kids in the world.  I love them all in so many ways and cherish every moment I have with them.  I only hope to be the mom they deserve...

Cavan is my HEART!  He is the most loving and compassionate child I have ever known.  I love how he cares for others in such amazing ways!

Little Kian is my JOY!  He makes me laugh and is gently mischievous.  He is such a miracle, and my heart rejoices at the mere sound of his name.

Airlie is my HOPE!  She came to us with only the clothes on her back and her name.  I know that God has a beautiful plan for her life!  Her resilience and her confidence give me the hope that I need to be a voice for the 147 million orphans that are left without a family.  My prayer is that my blog and my life are encouraging others to consider adopting a child.  Every child deserves a home.  I am so thankful Airlie has found hers...
