Happy Easter!

What a beautiful blessing Jesus gave us.  I am so thankful for Him and all of the beautiful blessings that He continues to shower upon an undeserving person like me.  We had a beautiful Easter (minus the fact that Daddy had to work!)!  From our family to yours...HAPPY EASTER!

Jesus Has Risen

24 On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women took the spices they had prepared and went to the tomb. 2 They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, 3 but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. 4 While they were wondering about this, suddenly two men in clothes that gleamed like lightning stood beside them. 5 In their fright the women bowed down with their faces to the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead? 6 He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you, while he was still with you in Galilee: 7 ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’ 8 Then they remembered his words.

9 When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others. 10 It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the others with them who told this to the apostles. 11 But they did not believe the women, because their words seemed to them like nonsense. 12 Peter, however, got up and ran to the tomb. Bending over, he saw the strips of linen lying by themselves, and he went away, wondering to himself what had happened.

7 Months Together...

Airlie has been with us for seven months today.  It's crazy how time flies!  Seems like just yesterday that we were holding our scared little girl for the first time.  I am so ecstatic about how she is evolving and how far she has come!

Airlie is the process of developing favorites.  It's constant.  "Airlie's favorite book is (insert the name of the last book we read)."  "Airlie's favorite song is (insert name of song here, however, she typically says the song above is her favorite)."  I think she likes how they play with paint in the video.  It looks like an event that she could easily wander into.   Since we are on the subject of favorites, my favorite is "Airlie's best friend is (insert anyone's name here that she has met since becoming an American)."  She loves everyone...Little, Cavan, Mommy, Daddy, Ms. Shelia, Ms. Kayla, Ms. Natalie, Ms. Nikki, Ms. Ann, Ms. Vicki, Granny, Big Daddy, Grandaddy, Gabrielle, Bella, Buddy, Macie, Jamie, Auntie, Ms. Sue, Ms. Traci, Jordan, Iris, Gideon, Madeline, Emma, and the list goes on and on and on.  She is such a loving child and loves without condition!

Her language is developing so nicely.  She is able to communicate every idea that happens to walk across her mind.  On her China referral, I remember it stating that they were most concerned with "Jingshu's communication skills.  She does not talk."  Well, put her in a plane and cross the ocean, drop her into a house with a couple wild boys and a couple crazy parents, and love on her alot....and little Jingshu talks just fine.  I suspect by the one year mark, her language will be typical for her age.  It is remarkable to me how fast she has learned to communicate with us.  I am fairly sure that if the tables were turned, and I was the one planted in China seven months ago...I would still only be frequenting the McDonalds and asking for a picture menu!

Little Kian and Airlie truly are right by each other's side constantly.  Nothing pleases them more than to get into the toothpaste, pull out all of the cleaners neatly stored under the kitchen sink, or roll one another up in the circular oriental rug in the den.  They are a cute MESS!  Kian has begun to say Airlie's name and it is cute.  It sounds something like "Air-eeeee."  It is usually loud and coupled with a pointing finger and a loud wail.  Then Air-eeeee will either be wailing too or looking somewhat guilty.  Bless her heart, she doesn't hide it well.  Her guilty face shines through!  I often call the two babies "Pete and Repeat."  They are together constantly, getting into everything they aren't supposed to, laughing and giggling all of the time!

Cavan and Airlie have begun to bond when we read at night.  Airlie has finally calmed down enough at bedtime to read longer books.  She has officially graduated from board books to big girl books!  Remember, she never had a mattress in China so when she came here a mattress was like a giant trampoline.  Every night until the last couple of weeks (yes, for 6.5 months!) she was WILD at bedtime, jumping for 15 minutes or so!  Lately, she has begun to want to lie down with Cav while we read his books.  Every night, she promises me that she won't jump and that she will be quiet so that we can read...ha ha!  So, she and Cav cuddle while I read big girl and big boy books!

These days, everyone arrives to school or work with clean clothes on, their hair brushed, teeth brushed, and their faces washed.  We are typically on time, and all is well.  I think we have all adjusted fine!  We are counting down the days until spring break and summer vacation!  We can't wait for the adventures!

Here are some recent pictures of my resident cuties.

Gearing up for St. Patrick's Day!

Airlie was the Star Student (or "Tar Tudent") at her school a couple of weeks ago.  She was so excited!

Our "Superhero in Training."  There isn't a shirt that would suit him more.

After a few rounds of strep throat and a couple of stomach viruses, we were finally well enough to celebrate Kian's 2nd birthday!

Airlie liked the party hats!

Brotherly Love

Blessings, Stacy
